Grafted Repair in Severe Penile Curvature: A Case Study

MEDICAL HISTORY
Patient Profile
- 42-year-old male patient
- Resides in Istanbul
- Married
- Expects to have an active sex life
- No history of known systemic disease
Presenting complaints
- Penile curvature that has developed within the last 6 months
- Mild pain during erection
- Difficulty with sexual intercourse
- A sensation of hardness in the penis
DIAGNOSIS
The assessment revealed:
- Approximately 30-degree dorsal curvature
- Limited plaque area in the penis
- Erectile function preserved
- A clinical presentation consistent with the active phase
were identified.
ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT PLANNING
In the patient:
- Moderate curvature
- Persistent pain
- Early-stage assessment of the condition
- As she did not wish to undergo surgery
a non-surgical approach was planned.
Treatment administered
- ESWT (shockwave therapy)
- Clinical follow-up
- Supportive medical approach
- Lifestyle recommendations
A total of 6 sessions of ESWT were administered.

POST-TREATMENT ASSESSMENT
During post-treatment check-ups:
- A significant reduction in pain during erection
- A sensation of softening developed in the plaque area
- A reduction in the degree of curvature
- An increase in sexual comfort
were observed.
In the follow-up assessment:
- The curvature decreased from approximately 30 degrees to around 15 degrees
- No need for surgery arose
CONCLUSION
In this case, the non-surgical approach applied in early-stage Peyronie’s disease resulted in:
- pain control,
- limitation of disease progression,
- clinical improvement in curvature,
- improved quality of sexual life
were targeted, and no need for surgery arose during the follow-up period.
